Thanks to Alexander Grass Humanities Institute at JHU, I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be offering a free, online course this summer about the intersecting worlds of J.R.R. #Tolkien & the #AncientMediterranean. Registration is open now, through the links below! #ClassicsTwitter
Listened to Nicole Kimball’s talk under these wonderful prints of Medea and Circe! Excellent cross over. #AmphoraeXVI Amphorae XVI
I enjoyed presenting Amphorae XVI yesterday but the best part was getting a question on whether I prefer Ovid or Virgil... surely that's obvious - Virgil didn't even make it into my title! 😂
Just presented my paper on the use of ancient sources in a 1811 Scottish libel case Amphorae XVI. Thought I would wear my kilt in honour of the occasion UTAS Classics
Excellent discussion at the Postgraduate Workshop today for Amphorae XVI. Moderated by myself and Corrupted by the sea, many good things discussed.
I’d like to give a shout out to ASCS Postgrad Reps @teganjoyy and @AhrenbergBryant for the great AGM today! As well as Corrupted by the sea for moderating out Postgrad Forum. #AmphoraeXVI may have been created by our lovely team at UQ but we’d like to thank everyone for your support.
Thank you Amphorae XVI team for the wonderful conference and warm welcome to Brisbane. Thoroughly enjoyed my time and an in-person conference was the perfect way to cap off my time in academia.
Huge thanks to everyone who joined us for Amphorae XVI this week. It was a delight to hear so many insightful papers and share in such diverse research, with the added joy of seeing UQ bustling with new and familiar faces!(Thread of thanks incoming…)
