Saturn in all its immense glory. The ancients named this planet after the Roman god of time, agriculture, wealth, and abundance. And yet all they knew of the planet was that it was a bright, wandering dot in the sky. It wasn't until the advent of telescopes in the 17th century

Muscles are strengthened by testing, but disciplines aren't always like that. Self-control gets stronger not by exposure to temptation, but by avoiding it. So, ya. Common sense rules are good, actually.

Someone cut the lock and stole my bike last night. Or, I guess they decided to trade me for it, because they left their broken bike in its place.

Baby-Baptizers and Baby-Not-Baptizers can both agree that the Bible never explicitly mentions infants receiving baptism. But here's the question: Is that an argument FOR baptizing babies or AGAINST baptizing them? The Baby-Not-Baptizers would, of course say, it's an argument

A major problem for Christians is that we think our consciences always function properly, which leads us to assume that something will feel bad if it is bad. So when our actions or desires don’t fill us with guilt, we conclude that they can’t be wrong. This is the major problem

It is foundational to the LDS Church that 'all of the churches are corrupt and all of their creeds are an abomination' This is literally the entire reason the LDS Church exists. Or do you deny the First Vision now? Are our beliefs an abomination or are they the same as yours?

Not Kotaro Katsura There 's no such thing as baptism "in and of itself." By definition, a sacrament includes the sign and thing signified. Regarding baptism: if the sign (water) is not present, it’s not a baptism. Likewise, if the thing signified (the Spirit) is not present, it’s not a baptism.

The "Mormons aren't Christians" movement started with Joseph Smith after he had a vision that said about Christianity "All their churches are corrupt and all their creeds an abomination" The founding belief of the LDS Church is that they are not the same thing as Christians
