It’s good when central office peeps remember what it’s like to work in the school building.
It’s good when school administrators remember what’s it’s like to teach in the classroom.
And it’s good when teachers remember what it’s like to be a kid.
Some kids have taller mountains to climb than others. We can’t climb the mountains for them, but an awareness of the mountains… reminds us of the importance of our patience and support. Some kids need us to be their cheerleader more than they need us to be their instructor.
Sometimes kids push their boundaries. That’s what they do. Most adults were kids once. It’s good to remember.
We hold kids accountable… but we still can show grace; we can still demonstrate compassion; and we always respect their dignity.
I’m grateful for the partnership of our parents.
Every parent cares about their child’s education… even if they’re not sure how to show it… or don’t have the wherewithal to show it.
Just like us… parents want the best for their child.
Encouraging words never get old.
Never.
If you want to make a difference for someone… build them up with your words. They don’t have to be special words… or profound words. They just have to be from the heart.
When Tier 1 is weak, lots of students look like they need intervention.
When Tier 2 is weak, lots of students look like they need Tier 3 or special education.
Strong investments in Tier 1 & Tier 2 is a critical starting place for prevention.
Access gaps = outcome gaps.
We can nullify the need for so many tier 2 and tier 3 interventions if we just get tier 1 instruction right.
Less some kids some times.
More all kids all the time. #EducatorsATLAS
