Big US companies love pointing the finger at foreign suppliers... meanwhile, back at home, the plantation model is so deeply embedded within the global economic system that those same companies are able to duck accountability for what they cause elsewhere apnews.com/article/prison…

Welp, that should about do it..... next time I see you, I'll tell you what *wasn't* said ;) Mad gratitude to an ace employer who isn't afraid to let their people tell it like it is. 💪✨️🙏

Great new reporting on shrimp-main takeaway: this is a systemic issue, in India + across the region, in large part due to buyer purchasing practices chasing fastest/cheapest, creating a race to the bottom. Cutting ties with any single factory or country will not solve the issues!

Hay retailers!! How ya like that, after all your PR work?? How about actually changing your purchasing practices and supporting change, so that it can be justified on all ends, politically, economically, socially?? No? Just move to India? OK. Wash, rinse, repeat.....

An unusual one for ya, hive...do we know anyone in Sicily that would have connections to the Catania Fish Market? I have a university professor friend/artist that is interested in Mediterranean fisheries - she wants to learn & incorporate some of that into her art and advocacy :)

As big supermarkets pursue profits, new research shows growing exploitation of shrimp farmers apnews.com/article/shrimp…

We have to stop pointing fingers and start regulating our own companies..... This is predictable and a total absurdity!!

Indonesia is the world's 4th biggest shrimp exporter. However, research shows that shrimp workers are subject to forced labour, fuelled by the purchasing practices of supermarkets in the US, EU, & UK. Come hear many smarter people than me at DFW's webinar-this Wednesday, Nov. 6

ATTENTION to all those considering buying a Subaru because it's supposedly a #family or #outdoors vehicle, #safe and #reliable - THEY ARE NOT. Subaru does NOT honor their warranties and are happy to send customers on the road in hazardous cars that endanger EVERYONE.
