I'm almost done working on a new #GeometryNodes project ... a clean, logical API for creating node trees with code. Geometry, shader and compositor all supported. A clean minimal script that is logical to read and write, rebuilds the node trees interactively on the fly.

It's actually so over. This is a one way ticket to beginner 3d artists getting stuck being mediocre generalists for the rest of their lives if they rely on this for too long. If you're a beginner, it would be best to learn from tutorials, courses, and classic trial and error.

Another thing is that if you skip making stuff by yourself as a complete beginner you may just miss discovering something you love doing. Most of 3D professionals I know discovered their love for 3D work "accidentally"

I keep getting asked why I don't like genAI. I mean there's a lot of reasons, most of which are the usual talking points against it. But on a personal level, it lacks the dopamine hit I get from putting effort into something and seeing the result. I don't feel empowered by it.
