Some words in our Yoruba language originate from Edo/Benin. For instance, the Benin term "Oghede" refers to Plantain/Banana, which we Yoruba call "Ogede." Another example is "Ugbo," meaning farm in Edo/Benin, while we use "Igbo". Words like Oba, Omo, and Iye are also from Benin.
