This spectacle called Bhalswa landfill fire in North Delhi. There's no official statement on environmental & health hazard (unimaginable) caused by this yet. Our landfills are still unengineered, leaving them highly vulnerable. Jyoti Yadav Climate Home News Bharati Chaturvedi Mayur Shekhar Jha

There are so many blocked websites in Egypt at #COP27 , that it is noticeable and hard for us to work. We can't use our Earth Uprising International Medium site, because Medium is blocked. News agencies we refer to are blocked. There is no climate action without truth and information.

The transition to net-zero emissions must be rapid, global, inclusive & just. It must be country-led, country-driven & supported by the international community. Initiatives like the Global Accelerator on Jobs & Social Protection for Just Transitions can help leave no one behind.

Outcomes of climate summits and negotiations would be very different if only those under 40 years of age were to participate and take decisions. Perspective, politics, and priorities are very different for the old and the young. #ClimateCrisis #COP27 #ClimateAction

My economics professor at grad school (whose doctoral mentor was the great economist, Paul Samuelson, at MIT) had once said that we can solve the #ClimateChange problem if the world planted + maintained 100 billion trees. Simple.

BREAKING: at #COP27, the UN Secretary General’s high-level expert group is releasing a new standard to turn empty net-zero commitments into meaningful climate action. Stick with me for details - it’s very good news 🧵

US is responsible for a fifth of global cumulative #carbon #emissions. It's really hard to debate with the idea of common but differentiated responsibility (CBDR). Very informative thread by Simon Evans on global GHG emissions landscape. #climatechange
