GPC England has spoken: the current 24-25 contract offer is woefully inadequate and puts patients and staffing levels at risk. Watch the video update from Katie Bramall-Stainer on our next steps, and why GPs should join the BMA to ensure you have your say. bma.org.uk/bma-media-cent…

This is so close to the protected title of General Medical Practitioner and is likely to mislead both applicants and the public. UCAS GMC The BMA RCGP Care to comment?

Today we have written to Government asking them to reconsider their plan to limit compensation to veterans impacted by the armed forces ban on LGBTQ personnel from 1967 to 2000. The Doctor Magazine provides further insight into how this plan will impact those affected.

If anyone thinks that racism is only about tackling issues in white individuals? Then you aren’t aware enough The views of many from South Asian community towards black colleagues are equally abhorrent And reflected in #NHS Challenge your own bias “Colourism” is a thing.

If continuity of care was a drug with the same benefits and the NHS refused to provide it, there would be an outcry. But policymakers just treat it as an optional extra that never gets prioritised. Why won’t they learn? Wilful blindness? Ignorance? There’s really no excuse now.

Looking forward to meeting DHSC & NHSE regarding the 2024/25 contract for GPs in England this week We’ll be putting the contract to the profession, in a referendum We know that the 2024/25 contract needs to 🧷 1. Feel safe 🙏 2. Bring stability 🤞 3. Engender a sense of hope

The Conservatives, Department of Health and Social Care & NHS England have decided, rather than being the ‘stepping stone’ year to signal safety, stability, and hope - 2024 will instead signal reduced patient access to GP services as well as likely closures of GP practices across the country. 🧵👇

Around 26,000 GP members will have received their referendum voting link by the end of today. If you're eligible to vote but haven't received a link, complete our form and we'll get back to you. forms.office.com/e/UvdpQbWFwe The ballot closes 27 March, so there's still plenty of time.

We have overwhelmingly voted to reject the Government and NHS England’s 2024/25 GP contract changes. More than 19,000 GPs and GP Registrars took part in the BMA’s referendum, with over 99% voting ‘no’. Our message can't be any clearer. bma.org.uk/our-campaigns/… Katie Bramall-Stainer
