Say please.❤️Don't say sudo! 🔥 There is something very passive-aggressive about the Linux sudo command. Don't do it!😡 $ sudo rm -rf folder 👎 $ please rm -rf folder 👍 Just the idea of referring to yourself as a super-user, as the first two letters of the sudo command infer,

Wrote some really clever code today that uses a couple fancy recursions & multiple abstractions so I'm not copy-pasting the same several lines of code to multiple places. So clever that if I got paged at 2am it would make zero sense to me. Shook myself out if it and deleted it

💡 IntelliJ IDEA Tip: you can enable language specific syntax highlighting on any String by annotating it with @Language("<lang>") or commenting with //language=<lang>. Especially useful when used with Java 15+ Text Blocks

Forcing Google to sell Chrome is just stupid. We already have plenty of alternatives, like Firefox and Chromium. All the value in Chrome is that Google is incentivized to CONTINUE to invest heavily in moving the web forward. It's a classic wealth v riches misunderstanding.

Claude 4 just refactored my entire codebase in one call. 25 tool invocations. 3,000+ new lines. 12 brand new files. It modularized everything. Broke up monoliths. Cleaned up spaghetti. None of it worked. But boy was it beautiful.

Hardcore devs create strong LLMs. Strong LLMs create weak devs. Weak devs create dumb LLMs. Dumb LLMs create hardcore devs.

This tracks completely with what I've experienced using AI as a pair programmer. As soon as I'm tempted to let it drive, I learn nothing, retain nothing. But if I do the programming, and it does the API look-ups, explains the concepts, I learn a lot.
