Yesterday, one of my eighth graders asked me if I was born in the 2000s. I asked him if I looked like I was 23 - and he said yes! 🤣 My FCS students made me such a kind video for FCCLA’s “incredible educators day” this year. I’m honored to laugh and learn with them each day.

Riya’s #incREDible year as an North Carolina FCCLA state officer coming to an end was bittersweet; I was glad to send her off to high school with a last day gift - she will be missed! Today we’re a week away from the national #FCCLA conference, and I was delighted to work with this new SEC!

It’s been three weeks since Dave and I happily became engaged at the Isle of Palms in South Carolina! I think this is the last batch of our engagement photos by the shore that we wanted to share publicly. 📸: Thank you to his sweet sister Sarah for the beach photographs!

In honor of it being four weeks since Dave and I became engaged, these are some photographs from our recent visit to Grandfather Mountain and the mile high swinging bridge. Even with a short rainstorm, it was beautiful and we heard a great nature talk. We love the mountains!

We are ringing in the new year with happiness and anticipation of what’s to come in 2025! I’m thankful that this holiday season Dave and I were able to attend the Christmas service at church, see the decor at the Hotel Roanoke, spend time with family, and hike at Natural Bridge.
