Woodville’s Mason Jones scored 41 points and tied an AHSAA record for 3-pointers in a quarter with six during Woodville’s 104-61 win tonight at Gaylesville. Jones made 13 3-pointers in all, tying him for fifth-most in a single game according to the AHSAA’s online records.

Woodville volleyball and girls basketball head coach Woody Beard is retiring from education in Alabama and will teach at South Pittsburg (Tenn.) next school year. The Pisgah alum coached the PHS boys basketball team for 23 years before coaching the past four years at Woodville.
