The “return to normal” movement undermines the principles of inclusive design and public policy by marginalizing those who are more vulnerable.

Is there a shortage of labor? Or a shortage of jobs with dignity, fair pay, and basic benefits?

Some people would literally rather die than stay in shelter. The problem is not people being “service resistant” or “non-compliant”, the problem is inadequate policies and practices that cause real harm to people.

“I don’t know enough to speak intelligently about the topic” is a phrase I will say freely and without the slightest bit of shame. Nobody needs my freezer burned take on everything. Sometimes the holy ghost says hush and read a book.

PSA: Sometimes expressions of public grief (and yes, "coping") can be appropriative of on-the-ground lived realities- please don't lose sight of those actually living this nightmare

Just a note on language: I appreciate non-natives striving to find words to describe the severity of colonial violence experienced by tribes. But please be wary of using totalizing words like “destroyed”. Particularly when discussing communities that were, in fact, not destroyed

Queer, mad and crip joy is one way we fashion a future with our body/minds in it. Joy is a powerful claim to existence in the face of a violent present, and in the wake of a violent past.

I've definitely been guilty of stepping into spaces and forgetting that space existed before me. I've also seen this dynamic replicated over and over in advocacy work. Acknowledge and respect those who came before you and made the conversations you're in possible💙
