Chronically ill and disabled people don’t have to keep things positive or inspiring all the time for your comfort. Sometimes we just need to be real or matter of fact about our chronic illness/disability. And it doesn’t mean we’re being negative or trying to get sympathy.

Sometimes you don't need to hear their excuses or what they have to say for themselves because their actions already spoke the truth.

Going to your GP with #longcovid is like smashing your car into a wall at 100mph then taking it to the guy who changes the oil to see if he can fix it 🙄

I understand that during the #Pandemic, #LongCovid was not intuitive & foreseeable. But now it is clear that Millions of people are suffering for years The #LongCovid should be at the forefront of Healthcare Agendas.

People who are generally healthy don’t understand how limited treatment options can sometimes be for chronic illnesses. They’re always like “isn’t there anything else they can do??” “Why don’t you just go to the dr??” If only it were always that simple. 😐😐

It’s ok if sometimes you reach your breaking point with your chronic illness/disability. It’s hard to suffer all the time.

You just never know what someone is dealing with behind closed doors. No matter how happy someone looks, how loud their laugh is, how big their smile is, there can still be a level of hurt that is indescribable. So please be kind. Even when others are not, choose to be kind.

Don’t underestimate the value of sitting quietly with someone when they’re in pain. Let them talk. Listen to hear. There is profound healing in someone experiencing your care by offering your presence and withholding your advice.
