The agreement on a ceasefire in Lebanon is a relief in the devastating situation in the Middle East. I want to praise France and the US for their mediation. It is now crucial that the ceasefire holds, to guarantee the safety of both LEB & IL citizens, & the return of IDPs. 1/2

I met Александар Вучић and Albin Kurti today. The only way to EU membership is through normalisation of their relations, on the basis of the Ohrid agreement. I welcomed the readiness to fully cooperate after the recent terrorist attack. Perpetrators must face justice.

Russia’s “peace” last night: a massive strike on Kyiv with drones and ballistic missiles. At least 10 killed, 30 injured, many buildings destroyed. The EU Delegation was severely damaged by the shock wave. This is Moscow’s true answer to peace efforts.

While the world seeks a path to peace, Russia responds with missiles. The overnight attack on Kyiv shows a deliberate choice to escalate and mock the peace efforts. Russia must stop the killing and negotiate.
