🔷Sevelamer is a phosphate binder. It is used to treat hyperphosphatemia in patients with chronic kidney disease. Sevelamer binds to dietary phosphate and prevents its absorption. Side effects are mostly GI related: constipation, diarrhea, dyspepsia, flatulence, nausea.
