Asked about the Conservative Party’s Tamworth candidate suggesting that unemployed parents struggling to feed their children should “fuck off”, Rishi Sunak’s spokesperson says the comments show that “unlike Labour we are a party that believes in work”.

Just gave my Dr a whole A4 sheet of my symptoms + how long they've been going on for... He picks out the 'Suicidal thoughts' part and then says, "Should we up your SSRI meds to 60mg?" DO YOU SEE THE PROBLEM???? They're so quick to pump us up with meds instead of getting... 1/2

Frances Ryan I was diagnosed with severe endometriosis & adenomyosis aged 44, after suffering since I was 11. Finally seen at a specialist endo centre. Adenomyosis, I was told, is one of the most painful conditions women can experience. Felt like I had a blowtorch in my pelvis every month

One of the funniest things that has happened to me this year was when a doctor in A&E wrote that I had "delusions of grandeur" because I said (very politely) that I had contributed to writing the guidelines for treating eating disorders (they were not aware of them)

Frances Ryan I was treated like a Munchausen’s case by a female consultant gynaecologist who, as I ‘insisted’, put me on a routine list for surgery to remove an ovarian cyst. Which was actually a torted x 2 fimbrial cyst and could have ruptured with devastating consequences 😏

This UK Covid-19 Inquiry witness has nailed it. She has just been asked why there is a reluctance to acknowledge that #COVID19 is airborne. She has 4 reasons. The main one IMO is that the responsibility then moves from the individual to the organisation - it's no longer a case of 1/

At the #CovidInquiryUK Prof @CathNoakes explains how mitigations for 💥#CovidIsAirborne💥 puts the responsibility onto those who manage the indoor environment. 1/

Should we have acted on the precautionary principle prior to APRIL 2020 when it was established that #COVIDisAirborne? We still aren't doing so now! 2/

Hospital infection control for airborne infections. Negative pressure rooms to contain infections. AND Full respiratory protective equipment required. We still need #MasksInHealthcare #CleanAirHealthcare 3/

Our members regularly report that areas where patients are high-risk of infection people aren't masking. Segmenting a population, in this case within an outpatients department, is not an appropriate / reasonable approach to infection control.

Why didn't we "learn" to live with Covid. The guidance is still unacceptable to this day. Protections have been withdrawn, without evidence. The mode of transmission has not changed - so why the changes in healthcare?

Clinically Vulnerable Families 💙💜💗 (@cv_cev) 's Twitter Profile Photo

The responsibility for mitigating airborne transmission is not on the individual it is on the NHS to provide a safe environment. We need #MasksInHealthcare and #CleanAir healthcare to protect the vulnerable from unmitigated spread of airborne infections.

Feels uncomfortable to talk about this - love the NHS etc - but disabled patients are being treated appallingly by some doctors and nurses over covid risk. A nurse recently accused me of recording her on my phone when I asked her to mask properly. Prejudiced, mean and just weird!

Once upon a time in #Parathyroid Land, doctors chose a magic number, 2.85 to give everybody free surgery. How lovely. Everybody with calcium below that number had to pay lots of money. They all became very sick. Their bones broke. Some had a stroke. Some died. A true #NHS tale..

Oooo! Friday Sajid Javid is in the hosting chair. Anyone fancy calling in and asking about why he’s dropped out of view with his much trumpeted ME strategy? #pwME #ME #MECFS

PSA for any clinically vulnerable person who’s been made to feel “crazy” or “high maintenance” for asking people to test for covid. My plumber kindly took an LFT before my appt - with no symptoms - and was positive twice. LFTs save lives. Don’t let any troll make you doubt it.

lol at the stock paragraph in every piece of FND work in which its historical origins in neurasthenia, hysteria, and conversion disorder are acknowledged as stigmatizing but framed passively as though the field of psychiatry had nothing to do with it and a name change will fix it

Mary S I rolled my eyes at a GP last week (tel appt), who suggested I may be over medicated because TSH was suppressed (by T3, of course). I said, "How can I be with T4 15.3, T3 4.7, and no thyroid?". We've had the same conversation many times. Why don't they listen/research?
