The oldest Coronation invitation in the Royal Archives, is for the Coronation of King George III and Queen Charlotte, which took place on 22 September 1761. 4/7

The top of the Coronation invitation, designed by Andrew Jamieson, features a scrolling C, the initial of King Charles and Queen Camilla. A wren sits inside it, a sign of rebirth. On top is a robin, another symbol of renewal and the bird said to appear when loved ones are near.
