I was born and raised in Dublin and having lived in the west of Ireland for many years now I feel I can speak on this matter, we are ignored here in the west by government, we basically fend for ourselves the majority of the time, thankfully we have strong communities.

How dare you walk away from her. Micheál Martin I tidied up your half cup of green tea. I comforted an upset child today with a game of ludo, I comforted a crying older lady yesterday and helped a gentleman ring a family member in hospital. You greeted me and I passed you...

Sometimes an interview stays with you long after recording for news. John McDonagh from An Cheathrú Rua is 82 and is unwell and freezing cold since the storm knocked out his electricity in Conemara 5 days ago #storm #Conemara #gaeltacht

What I love about Cork is that it's a nice blend of the old Ireland and the new, you can be drinking in a pub that is a throwback to 1975, then walk around the corner and there'll be a sushi bar or hipster brunch joint, it retains heart and soul.

Pádraig Pearse's predictions for the year 2006, writing on August 4th, 1906: - Post Service completely in Irish. - An Claidheamh Soluis, now a daily newspaper, is completely in Irish, even the advertisements. - English not used as national or indeed international language. -

In Ireland, you'll always be kicked when you're down. Lad about my age has become homeless for reasons beyond his control. After sleeping in his car + burning savings on hotels he finally got emergency accom but parking costing near €50 per day. Needs car for work. Awful.
