I needed this green stapler over a month ago. I couldn't find it anywhere. So, I bought a new one. Tonight after new one was hanging around on bench I thought "hmm where can I put it this time so I don't lose it" and in the place I picked I found the old one. Grr! Consistent.

I find myself not using X more and more. I barely look at it, and I rarely post. It's just lost its reason and has gotten so much worse for it. If the goal of the change was to destroy something I've been using daily for almost 15 years, then it was a huge success.

My first go at PETG. It's a test lead hook. My very upgraded wanhao i3 clone running an SKR2 with Klipper. All metal hot end and a PEI build plate. 0.32mm layer height for speed. I'm pretty pleased.

== RANT WARNING == Why doesn't systemd have a target that can guarantee that the DNS resolver is ready and working. Instead you have processes start without DNS and fail. Best solution: ExecStartPre=/bin/sh -c 'until host example.com; do sleep 1; done' STUPID!

I hacked together a 6M horizontal dipole. It needs trimming; it's resonant at 45.95MHz so it needs a bit. I modeled a 10mm rod clamp and 3D printed four of them. Turned out pretty nice. When it's light tomorrow I'll chop bits off to bring it up to about 52MHz. #hamradio

My 3D printed 6M hexbeam! Ebay purchased 5mm x 1M glass rods, all 3D printed parts. All PLA at the moment, but can paint or reprint in ABS or PETG. It's only taped to a mast at the moment for the photos. Needs balun, feedline and tuning. Hope it works. Might add 2M loop too.

Made a 6m SSB contact with a club member 117km away via the exhaust of a passing jumbo. Now that was pretty epic fun! This little 3D printed 6m hexbeam seems to work well! #hamradio

Got a non-oem OCXO for my IC-706MK2G transceiver. Not a hard install but nerve wracking nonetheless. Trimmed it up to be as close to 60 MHz as I can. Should be no more drifting with WSPR etc on 6 m, 2 m and 70 cm

Well... It's my 15th Twitter anniversary. But since X, this place kinda has gone downhill fast. I doubt I'll make my 16th. #MyXAnniversary

I built a WBR regen receiver. Quick little project that is working surprisingly well. Next I need to do what others have done with the input inductor. It is a little deaf, but for a JFET and a BJT plus few hours of mucking around I think it works great! #hamradio

Discovering I could receive and decode NOAA Wx satellites with my X50 2M vertical the other night I set about building a "better" antenna for 137MHz. These 120 degree dipole antennas seem useful, so I set about designing a nice hub for the middle. Still need the lid. #hamradio

Well it's freezing cold outside and it's 9pm. What the heck let's put this NOAA horizontal dipole in the air and try and get some images from satellite! #hamradio

Finally managed to decode signals from Meteor M2-4 flying up the east coast of AU. It's a false colour image in that the 3 channels are compiled down to gradients of dirt, water/ice/snow, and vegetation from the infrared/near visible readings from it's sensors. Happy #hamradio

I got bored and decided to give FreeCAD v1.0 a better run for its money. So I made a case for the old LED&KEY boards from a while ago. Turned out pretty nice and FreeCAD worked like a dream. Very very pleased. #freecadv1_0
