UMich GSIs are getting as much money this month from Ohio State as they are from UMich

Last night, the University of Michigan Regents called our demand for a modest living wage of $38k "unrealistic". The estimated combined fortunes of only two of them would be enough to fund a living wage for more than 278 years. They could fund it for 218 years and still be billionaires.

What's rich about this point is that University of Michigan created the cost of living crisis in Ann Arbor. In the most egregious example, Regent Weiser is A2's biggest landlord. He is very literally raising our rents while keep our wages down. The Regents must own their cost of living crisis.

Graduate student workers at the University of Michigan are joining together to demand fair wages, better benefits, safe working conditions, and decent work schedules. I’m proud to stand in solidarity with them.
