So embarrassing, Sununu. And so clueless. He thinks he's being charming and clever, rather than aiding and abetting fascism.

On political endorsement wapo.st/3YmeD3T This is cowardice, with democracy as its casualty. @realdonaldtrump will see this as an invitation to further intimidate owner @jeffbezos (and others). Disturbing spinelessness at an institution famed for courage.

So the Republican mayor of Oklahoma City comes out for Kamala Harris against Trump, and the Washington Post takes a pass. #2024

When the attorney general threatened WaPo owner Katherine Graham that he’d put her ‘tit in a wringer’ if she published Watergate reporting, she didn’t blink Jeff Bezos, not so much

LA Times/Washington Post nonendorsements are ominous; acting or failing to act out of fear of retribution = early signs of willingness to capitulate to authoritarian leader for business reasons. Where do we find this in history? Hmm. But seriously, this is scarey. And cowardly.

I'm as disgusted by the WaPo's chickeshit behavior as anyone. But may I suggest that instead of canceling your Post subscription and hurting the journalists there, you cancel your Prime subscription and stop shopping at Amazon?

Bill McKibben (@billmckibben) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Not cancelling my WaPo subscription because there are great journalists there doing great work Am cancelling my Amazon Prime because that’s where Bezos’ money comes from

Jane Sasseen (@janesasseen) 's Twitter Profile Photo

100% true. I get the desire to punish Bezos for the decision. But cancelling the Post will hurt journalists more than Bezos. Stop using Amazon if you want to strike back at the person responsible.

I know I’m biased—because I love Kamala Harris and loathe Donald Trump— but there has never been a clearer choice in the history of America.

NEW: The Kamala Harris campaign just released its final ad & I’m reduced to tears. Kamala Harris is the leader we need. Working for her has been an honor of the lifetime & we are going to fight like never before these next 3 days to get her elected as president. Watch & share.

Everyone in America has an aunt like Ann Selzer and an uncle like Nate Silver. Nate talks loudly all night long until Ann chimes in with a totally brilliant point to undermine him. (Also, Nate talks with his mouth full and Ann made all the desserts)

The impact Trump 2.0 and Musk on nonprofits and the people who run them? It's brutal. My new piece, "Fresh Hell Served Daily." alancantorconsulting.com/2025/02/fresh-…

I have to say that Russell Shorto's new book, "Taking Manhattan," is magnificent. I'll never think of NYC (or the Puritans, the Dutch, the Stuarts, or Peter Stuyvesant) the same way again. Shorto is such a great historian and storyteller.
