As city becomes ‘unlivable furnace’, it is business as usual for axe brigade — 648 trees marked to be felled bangaloremirror.indiatimes.com/bangalore/civi…

A lot of research now makes it clear it is the lack of planning (no trees, no water, no open green spaces) that is making Indian cities unlivable. Of course then climate change on top of all of this is hitting us harder than others.

I hope Govt of India will ask every state government to provide fish & eggs in the mid day meal and increase the protein intake of our children. Bengal politics doing wonder for protein cause in India!

El Niño forecasts will be clear by end of May. But in India, June is when Kharif sowing begins. Add the uncertainty in fertiliser supply due to the war on Iran & we get substantial risks to farmer livelihood & food security. States should be preparing risk management strategies

Is the necessity to destroy forests and cut trees some integral part of bureaucratic training? Like you can't get a PWD job unless you take an oath to cut as many trees as see? Or can't get into the IAS academy without a certificate that you have already cut X number of trees?

30 lakh voters (many mapped with passports) were deleted from electoral roll because of Supreme Court refusal to protect political rights due to admin delays. Lakhs of appeal. Tribunal only cleared 136 voters before voting day as ECI informed. 136 among 30 lakh voters!

My report from NOIDA accounting for price rise, if a worker earned Rs 10000 per month in 2015, then to keep pace with inflation, the worker would need to earn Rs 15,466 per month in 2026. Majority of workers dont earn even this much: themigrationstory.com/post/our-wages… in The Migration Story
