Now that the news is out that @dcist is dead and 15 great people will lose their jobs, some truths. No one at @dcist/WAMU 88.5 was ignorant of the tough realities of media. But this is more a failure of leadership than anything.

The issue with accessing DCist’s extensive archives absolutely has to be addressed. You know how much history is covered there? And all the links to those stories are now being redirected. It’s not just not ideal, it’s an actual disservice to the public.
