This week, several AISD refugee students received new shoes thanks to Junior League Austin and AISD Special Project Coordinator, Christina Burbank Shelton. Our Burmese refugee family was excited to pick up a pair of new shoes for their son. #communitypartnerships

Shout out to Shayna Bright, 2nd grade ESL teacher Travis Heights Elementary School for keeping a journal of Pashto and Dari words her Afghan students teach her. While they learn English, she learns more of their home languages. Thank you for building a culturally inclusive classroom environment!
