4yo just asked for a rake for her potato .... like the vegetable potato. The potato she painted red and is holding in her hand. And I'm not quite sure how to respond to that. Even after 15yrs of mothering, my kids can render me speechless. #thingskidssay

4yo wants to play on the tablet: Mom can you do the password? Me: No. It's not game time. Repeat 25 times. 4yo losing it: fine! Then I'm just going to quit! Me: Alright, you go ahead and quit then. I'm sure she thinks that's a threat but I'm glad she's finally stopped begging😂

This Thurs is 6yo's special night. The other kids go to bed early and he gets to choose an activity and a snack/treat. Tonight he chose to watch Turbo. Again. This is time number 3. "Left turn, left turn, and... what's next? Oh yeah, left turn." Best line of the movie #momlife

6yo: Mom, can you buy own phone for me? Me: haha no! 6yo: but I wanna call people and game on my own phone. FTR, neither my husband nor I game on our phones. My 15yo only has a flip phone that he texts my husband and me on. 6yo is a a little goofball😆

15yo decided he is at the age that he can decide if he wants actual supper or if he can just grab a cookie instead... to be fair, he baked the cookies. But it's still weird to see my boy make such grownup decisions.

I just finished The Lifegiving Home by Sally Clarkson and it is everything that I want for my home and family. Some books just have a profound impact and you want to read them again and again and curl up into them with popcorn and hot cocoa as you dream of how to apply it.

Toddler is napping in me so the 5 older kids had a small box of smarties for snack. Then the 13yo, 11yo, 7yo, and 5yo went into the pantry together to play.... they've been in there for 20 minutes. There's much laughter and chatter about dehydrating foods..... Kids are fun!

16yo, 13yo, and 11yo just came into the living room to let me know WW3 has ended.... the 19mo has been declared the winner. The 19mo is still crawling down the stairs.... he'll get here eventually to revel in his victory.
