Today we report in Nature Medicine a study led by Christine & Jonathan Seidman’s lab in which we used adenine base editing in vivo to correct a common mutation that causes hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), a disease that occurs in ~1 in 500 people (1/8)

We are excited to receive this new Quest award to develop a novel treatment for Duchenne muscular dystrophy patients before birth. This study will be conducted at Center for Surgical Bioengineering by a strong interdisciplinary team at UC Davis Research with Dr. Niren Murthy from UC Berkeley.

We are thrilled to share that a team of our researchers, led by pioneering fetal surgeon Diana Farmer and bioengineer AijunWang,PhD, has been awarded nearly $15M for groundbreaking work on a spina bifida treatment by California Institute for Regenerative Medicine and Shriners Children's! ucdavis.health/3sYRKYH

We are very grateful and proud to partner with California Institute for Regenerative Medicine and Shriners Children's for the phase 2 of the CuRe trial! It has been such a privilege to have worked with my best scientific partner Diana Farmer and our incredible team at Center for Surgical Bioengineering for the past decade on this project.

Excited to share our new study on utilizing the LXW7 technology to improve revascularization and tissue regeneration and help large deep burn heal faster. Congratulations to our team here at the Center for Surgical Bioengineering UC Davis Surgery UC Davis Health
