This can only be seen as a slap to the face of every artist in the country. We condemn the misuse of the National Gallery - the institutional epitome of a countries artistic expression - to events that are unrelated to establishing or promoting art.

Of all the venues at your disposal, why’d you choose The National Art Gallery to host your tea party Madam Sajidha and Dr Mohamed Muizzu , why do you let this happen NCA Asward I. Waheed ? This is unacceptable and inappropriate. Please stop using NAG as a multipurpose hall.

Sad to see the National Art Gallery being used for non-art events. During our tenure we worked hard to upgrade the gallery, establish a permanent collection and reserve it just for art events and artists. NCA MaldivianArtists-MAC Fine Art Maldives #artmatters

For years, Maldivian artists have been fighting for real support and a properly run National Art Gallery. Yet, Dr Mohamed Muizzu, @YouthMinistryMV, NCA, Asward I. Waheed continue to ignore the arts. No funding, no opportunities, empty promises.
