Very important. On the other hand, there are plenty of "HEPA" air purifiers that simply don't live up to the standard when actually tested outside of their own company-funded tests. Beyond understanding the importance of HEPA, we need more transparency for buyers.

Places as far-flung as Pittsburgh are experiencing the dangers of wildfire smoke. Remember: the danger of wildfires is not just in the fires themselves. It is the way the smoke spreads, and the toxins they carry. As climate change worsens, the issue will spread.

The bigger issue, unfortunately, is the lack of clarity around air purifiers in general. Add onto that the fact that many air purifier companies use misleading claims, and you create an issue that leads to things like schools buying purifiers that actually make pollution worse.
