voucher scheme proponents want Black kentuckians to believe voting yes on amendment 2 will create new opportunities for our children to attend elite private schools. it’s a lie. in reality, the average voucher award in neighboring states falls far short of the total private

Amendment 2 will NOT allow low income families to send their kids to private schools. The $5,000 or so in state funding in a voucher isn’t enough to come close to making that possible. It is just a tax giveaway to affluent families already sending kids to fancy private schools.

when kentuckians know the facts, support for the voucher amendment plummets. vouchers schemes are coupons for wealthy families already sending their kids to private schools. they are not the ticket to opportunity their proponents claim. instead, let’s fund

Black families in particular should pay close attention to Amendment 2 - the school voucher amendment - on the ballot in Kentucky this fall. Voucher proponents want us to believe that if the boucher amednment passes we will be able to send our kids to private schools for free.

Clearly, Amendment 2 is NOT going to give low-income families a choice to go to these private schools in Lexington, just a tax giveaway to those who already do.

Today we're launching out first ad, Better Ideas. Instead of sending taxpayer money to private schools, we should focus on public schools—where 90% of children attend — and not take money away from them. We should invest in better ideas that work... (1)

We've heard the voices of LGBTQ Kentuckians and we stand with them. Today I was proud to sign an executive order banning dangerous conversion “therapy” on our kids. No child, regardless of their sexuality, should be subjected to harm.

i know students whose parents forced them into conversion therapy in exchange for college tuition. i know liberal parents who are okay with gay people but not okay with their kid being gay. i know religious kids in ky who took their own life because they couldn’t “fix” being gay.
