I'm a firm believer in the free market & would sooner listen to Baby Shark on repeat than another polemic from Robert Reich, but I have to say Help Wanted by Adelle Waldman is right up there with Frank Norris, Theodore Dreiser, Upton Sinclair & Steinbeck.

I loved talking to mike sacks for Doing It Podcast. We talked abt retail (he worked at a record store for many years), capitalism, the 90s, income inequality & what seems wrong with now (a lot). I'd listen if it weren't too cringy to hear my own voice. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/con…
