Driving through Pontlliw yesterday couldn’t help but smile as a Swallow swept along the road ahead of me. Waiting for the first screaming Swifts over the house next. GOWEROS1

An early season visit to Skomer Island was as brilliant as always. All the usual species seen including a bonus Hen Harrier. Only a few Puffin on land but when each has the character of a hundred birds of any other species, that’s no hardship.

Walk along the millennium coast path from Tywyn Bâch to Pembrey Harbour yesterday eve in a strong breeze was relatively quiet. Couple of skulking Whitethroats but no Groppers. Linnets were in fine voice though. CarmsBirdClub Welsh Ornithological Society 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Sociable Birder called Alun🦆🕊🦉🦢🦆🦃

With spring in full flow the woodland Dinefwr NT/YG last weekend was alive with the sound of birdsong. This Wren was doing its bit just outside the Deer Park.

Dare I believe that we’ve finally turned a corner from this endless period of rain? Lovely light yesterday evening looking down the Burry Inlet.

Love how Song Thrushes along the estuary have picked up a few wader calls to mimic. Redshank seems to be a particular favourite.

For all the rarities over the last few days my favourite photo is actually of this Rock Pipit feeding on the near vertical harbour wall in Aberystwyth.
