A pair of Razorbills enjoying the sun on Skomer Island. Love these birds as much as the Puffins. WildlifeTrustSWWales 🦡🐬 Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Pembrokeshire Bird Group
An early season visit to Skomer Island was as brilliant as always. All the usual species seen including a bonus Hen Harrier. Only a few Puffin on land but when each has the character of a hundred birds of any other species, that’s no hardship.
Walk along the millennium coast path from Tywyn Bâch to Pembrey Harbour yesterday eve in a strong breeze was relatively quiet. Couple of skulking Whitethroats but no Groppers. Linnets were in fine voice though. CarmsBirdClub Welsh Ornithological Society 🏴 Sociable Birder called Alun🦆🕊🦉🦢🦆🦃
After a week with the lurgy it was great to get out Dinefwr NT/YG today. Highlights were a Garden Warbler (NFY), Redstarts inc a pair in natural nest hole, Great White Egret, plenty of Blackcaps, Nuthatches and Treecreepers. CarmsBirdClub Sociable Birder called Alun🦆🕊🦉🦢🦆🦃 National Trust Cymru
With spring in full flow the woodland Dinefwr NT/YG last weekend was alive with the sound of birdsong. This Wren was doing its bit just outside the Deer Park.

Nice to see a few more butterflies about last weekend. Small Tortoiseshell, Peacock, Speckled Wood and a couple of Orange-tip WWT Llanelli Wetland Centre. Males never settled but this female did. Butterfly Conservation 🦋
Best Whitethroat views I’ve managed so far this year, courtesy of a pair skulking in deep vegetation WWT Llanelli Wetland Centre.

Late afternoon popped in to WWT Llanelli Wetland Centre to see the Little Stint. Really nice bird and best views I’ve ever had of one. Close by the Little Ringed Plover and near resident Long-tailed Duck. Pair of Whitethroat were NFY.

For all the rarities over the last few days my favourite photo is actually of this Rock Pipit feeding on the near vertical harbour wall in Aberystwyth.
