Thanks to the Home Counties The Geological Society for organising an absolutely fascinating visit to the Emmer Green chalk mine, 30 metres under Reading this afternoon. What a complex and varied geological and social history these mines record!
Hiking the second half of the Anglesey last path - completed the first half last year so this is unfinished business! Using gpx file from the excellent The Long Distance Walkers Association database of LDPs to guide us on our way. A brilliant walk - highly recommended.
Interesting example of wave refraction on the Anglesey Coast Path at Lligwy Bay this afternoon. A fascinating walk - check it out on the The Long Distance Walkers Association website!
Journey’s end today, as we completed our 2 year circular walk round Anglesey, finishing where we started, at Newborough Warren. It’s a surprisingly beautiful island, and the coastal walk is a great way to see the best of it. Check out the The Long Distance Walkers Association walks database before you set out!
Believe it or not, this was the view from the middle of Brixton today. A highlight of London Long Distance Walkers capital challenge Sat 4 April 2020. Yet another example of the great events that The Long Distance Walkers Association lays on for hundreds of people, most weekends, all year.
