Journeys end! A well earned beer after a 6 hour slog through hot pine forest to the spectacular Paisaje Lunar volcanic sculptures. Lots of calories sweated, and lots of beer drunk! @ Vilaflor, Canarias, Spain instagram.com/p/B3K6bq2plSm/…

Thanks to the Home Counties The Geological Society for organising an absolutely fascinating visit to the Emmer Green chalk mine, 30 metres under Reading this afternoon. What a complex and varied geological and social history these mines record!

Hiking the second half of the Anglesey last path - completed the first half last year so this is unfinished business! Using gpx file from the excellent The Long Distance Walkers Association database of LDPs to guide us on our way. A brilliant walk - highly recommended.

Wonderful walking in western wales today! Well western Anglesey actually, but that’s not nearly so poetic.. The stretch of the coast path from Moelfre to Penmon Head is beautiful, skirting expansive red wharf bay and taking in the new path round the headland itself. Recommended!

Checking out some of the finest Victorian industrial architecture in the world today, as we hiked on the Anglesey coast path alongside the Menai Straits. Magnificent view of Telford’s bridge below, taken from right on the path.

A suitably Halloween themed end to our short walk today from Britannia Bridge to Foel Farm along the Anglesey Coast path. And none other Horatio Nelson to guide us on our way at the start!

Journey’s end today, as we completed our 2 year circular walk round Anglesey, finishing where we started, at Newborough Warren. It’s a surprisingly beautiful island, and the coastal walk is a great way to see the best of it. Check out the The Long Distance Walkers Association walks database before you set out!

Believe it or not, this was the view from the middle of Brixton today. A highlight of London Long Distance Walkers capital challenge Sat 4 April 2020. Yet another example of the great events that The Long Distance Walkers Association lays on for hundreds of people, most weekends, all year.

Rory Stewart who once seemed to be the next Conservative Leader after David Cameron, is considering joining Labour. RT if that's a good idea. Like if it's bad.
