Joe Volpe, former Liberal MP & publisher of the Italian-Canadian newspaper Corriere Canadese, has been attacking Toronto Catholic District School Board trustees on their support for LGBTQ2S+ students. This homophobe has now successfully bullied the TCDSB into removing @LGBTYouthLine from their resource page.

I support @LGBTYouthLine & ask Toronto Catholic District School Board to reinstate this pivotal 2SLGBTQ+ resource into its schools & sites. To Joe Volpe, I grew up a gay Italo-Canadese in the Catholic System. I still carry scars of homophobia like this. I’m deeply saddened to hear the news of Jahmil’s passing. Hard to lose a young talent and a member of our Degrassi family. Though we didn’t know each other well, Jahmil was always a kind spirit & an inspiration to his castmates. Sending much love to his family, friends and fans.
