This is a scene I first read probably 25 years ago. That the show does this delicate, heartfelt interaction this wonderfully gives me a dangerous hope that maybe the rest of the show will also feel like it’s coming from my 25-year-old wide-eyed memories. Kudos.

It is disturbing that none of the coverage of the US killing of al-Zawahiri by The New York Times The Washington Post etc., even mentions the issue of the legal basis for the killing. Why should they consider legality? A short 🧵 nytimes.com/2022/08/02/wor…

REPORTER: Is this unfair to people who paid their student loans or chose not to take out loans? BIDEN: Is it fair to people who, in fact, do not own multi-billion-dollar businesses if they see one of these guys getting all the tax breaks? Is that fair? What do you think?

Nothing like having a bug fly into your eye and then bruising your orbital when you reflexively jab your fingers at it, ostensibly for protection. “Intelligent Design,” my ass.

A heartwarming (but, like, sorta _practically_ heartwarming?) story about the positive effects small kind acts can have on the giver and recipient. (via The New York Times, an unlocked link.) nytimes.com/2022/09/02/wel…
