Securing the safe release of all hostages remains one of the UK’s top priorities. Yesterday I again met families of those being held hostage in Gaza by Hamas - their continued pain and suffering is appalling. We continue to do all we can to ensure their safe return home.

It has been 163 days since hostages were taken by Hamas on October 7.

I have just spoken again to some of the families of those being held hostage in Gaza - their ordeals are unimaginable.

Hamas could end this conflict today. They must release all hostages immediately.
