This year’s #NELeg platform is not living up to Nebraska standards. We’re seeing bills to set a subminimum wage, exclude workers from earning paid sick leave, and cut social services. (1/2)

It's simple as far as I'm concerned - Nebraskans overwhelmingly voted to increase the minimum wage in our state, and that should be upheld for ALL workers. I'm against LB258 and any efforts that ignore, sidestep, or disregard the public's voice.

So disappointed in the NE Legislature trying to overturn the will of the people. Restricting the paid sick leave supported by 75% of Nebraskans. Restricting the minimum wage increase supported by 59% of Nebraskans. EVERY Republican + Democrat Jane Raybould supported both.

Two years ago I was an unknown union mechanic in Nebraska. Then I ran for US Senate. We shocked everyone and got 47%. Multi-billionaire Pete Ricketts is Nebraska's other Senator. He's up next year. We could replace a billionaire with a mechanic. Thread 🧵

WINNER-TAKE-ALL FAILS: The Nebraska Legislature killed a bill seeking to alter how the state awards Electoral College votes for president after Republicans in the nonpartisan body failed to secure enough votes to overcome a filibuster. From Juan Salinas II 🎱: nebraskaexaminer.com/2025/04/08/win…

The cloture motion on LB3, this year's "winner-take-all" bill, failed to clear the 33-vote threshold. The vote was 31-18. Unfortunately, because of partisan politics, this issue is never officially over. Regardless, we have a lot of thank-yous to share this evening. #neleg

The veto override vote for LB287 will be the first item on the agenda next Tuesday. Don’t forget to contact your senators and urge them to support the override!

This is 33 members of the Legislature telling Nebraskans that no matter what they do—no matter how many signatures they collect, no matter how many doors they knock, no matter how many voters show up—they’ll be ignored when power decides to intervene. #NELeg

So employment benefits like sick leave and min wage are a bridge too far, but defining who can play what sports is not. Gotcha, Neb legislature. Also, if you really want to support track and field, rugby, and wrestling (heard in debate), the collegiate landscape is gonna need $$.
