It has been a very wet first half of Spring, and the jet stream remains over the UK at the moment, giving us a showery northwesterly air flow

The jet will shift north though allowing high pressure to build across the UK, meaning a generally fine weekend is on the way

Dozens of monthly heat records fell in France today. Even more incredible that it’s only early April.

Temperatures in Biarritz last night didn’t fall below 22.5°C beating not only the April record but also May & June’s!

Big trouble ahead.

Things are not improving in the North Atlantic. The new records being set every day are crushing the previous highs set just last year.

For example, yesterday the North Atlantic SST was 20.41°C, beating last year's record 19.94°C by almost 0.5°C.

Code FUBAR!!!

The tropics just had its hottest day on record on March 13th, reaching 26.87°C, barely beating the previous record of 26.83°C on April 24th, 2016.

That's right, there's over a month of heating ahead before the Tropics hits its yearly peak.

This time last year global sea temperatures entered uncharted territory.

Since then the increase has been frankly unbelievable!

Yet this chart receives very little media attention.

We’re just awaiting the inevitable consequences. Which will come as a surprise to most.
