This deer says… woof? Meet the Muntjac deer. This ungulate makes bark-like calls to alert others of approaching predators like tigers. If attacked, the muntjac may bite its foe with its canine teeth.

Itchin’ to be chillin’ This little armadillo loves his time in the dirt – squeezing through “tunnels” and getting a good back scratch while he’s at it.

Few compare to the Virginia opossum when it comes to “playing dead.” When threatened, it'll fall on its side, curl its body, & may supplement the act with open-mouth drooling & an excretion of feces in hopes of deterring hungry predators.

We had a healthy baby three-banded armadillo born two weeks ago behind the scenes to parents Ross and Rachel. We don't know if it's a boy or a girl though: as the pup is demonstrating, three-banded armadillos can completely roll up into a tight ball to protect themselves!
