Thread 🧵: Child Security in Kigezi region Today #FIDAU met with Hon. Sarah Mateke of the Ministry of State for Youth and Children. Growing abuses against children in Kigezi was the main point of concern as #FIDAU has not had a presence in the area since the ending of DGF.

It was thus agreed that #FIDAU and the Honorable Minister would engage in a joint fundraising campaign to provide legal and educational support to Kigezi children.

#FIDAU is well aware of growing cases of violence against young girls and children as a whole as lockdowns take heed in different regions. We are working to develop networks that will enable us to support women and children in hard to reach places.
