Tanner Beliveau days away. The highly touted freshman two way player had a really big fall and opened eyes with his upper 90s fastball and his high exit velos. If he commands the ball he could be a very big impact freshman.

Vytas Valincius days away. After a breakout season at Illinois, he makes the trip over to Starkville. He’s a big guy that can hit for average and power. I’m curious to see where he plays defensively but he’s another really good player that will compete for the opening day lineup.

William Kirk days away. The New Jersey Gatorade player of the year was sidelined due to an injury last year but he was projected to be in Virginia’s weekend rotation. He should be a reliable lefty out of the pen or could push for a midweek starter role.

Chone James days away. After a solid freshman campaign, the utility guy made the move to Starkville with coach Oak. He can play a number of positions including emergency catcher. He will push for an opening day roster spot and adds more depth and competition to this lineup.

Duke Stone days away. He’s got a big frame, a mid 90s fastball, and solid offspeed. Last year, he didn’t get to see the field much, but he had a really good summer in the cape and is expected to make a big jump. He flew up draft boards and will compete for the weekend rotation

Drew Wyers days away. The Bryant transfer is coming off a monster year where he won American east player of the year. He will compete for one of the middle infield spots and could see his power numbers increase.

Ryder Woodson days away. The NC State transfer didn’t play much until the end of the season but when he got in there he played really well. In his first fall in Starkville, he impressed and could be the opening day short stop. He’s got a good frame and really good defensively.

Charlie Foster days away. The sophomore is coming off a decent freshman year but was sidelined most of it bc of injury. After an impressive fall, he’s the favorite for the Sunday starter role. The potential is through the roof with this kid.

Reed Stallman days away. The senior is an experienced veteran who is a great leader in the clubhouse. He’s a powerful bat that could find himself in the lineup after hitting double digit homers last year.

James Nunnallee days away. After a very good freshman season at Virginia where he started almost every game, he makes the trip down to Starkville. Last year, he was the hardest player to strikeout in the ACC. He’s added some power and he will be the favorite to start in RF.

Aidan Teel days away. The Virginia transfer will be the starting centerfielder after a very good year. He’s an elite defender and can really hit. He’s a 5 tool player and he’s expected to hit leadoff opening day.

Tomas Valincius days away. The LHP had a very good freshman season at Virginia starting every weekend on the mound. He has elite stuff and has the opportunity to be very good for the bulldogs. He projects as the Friday starter and should be the ace of this staff.

Ace Reese days away. Ace had a stellar sophomore season and received many awards including SEC newcomer of the year and all American honors. He will lock down 3b and is a favorite to win SEC player of the year. If he produces like he did last year, he’s a potential top 10 pick.

Jacob Parker days away. The highly touted freshman made it to campus foregoing the draft. He has the potential to be a top 10 pick if it all works out. I’m interested to see how much playing time he gets as a freshman. I think later in the year he might blossom into a star.
