Speak up Public educators! This administration has created increased testing, retention laws, licensure hoops, discipline hoops, etc. for us….but now wants to create a system of schools with the same money (taxes) without the hoops we jump through! Call your Legislators!

We were told in Sept. that there was urgency to overhaul the accountability system. Almost December- data is still embargoed & no business rules have been produced to outline how the system works. Data used to produce letter grades will be over 8 months old when released.

As a citizen who pays my taxes, on time & every time, I believe I have the right to know how my money is spent and the outcomes it brings. If I am audited, I must produce records of my spending. How can we stand by and not expect the same from ESA Vouchers used in charter schools

The voucher program will destroy Public Education in TN. The loss of funds for public schools will be tremendous. When funding is lost, the first things to go will be jobs and student extracurricular opportunities. It hasn’t worked anywhere else! It’s an “Economic Resegregation”

Something I had missed in the voucher amendments added yesterday was the clause that teachers in systems who do not pass a resolution affirming participation in the voucher act will not automatically receive the $2,000 bonus.
