It fucking sucks that instead of having time to process and feel, abortion funds & mutual aid orgs have to rush to post on social media and send out emails in hopes of funneling some "rage donations" or support to get through the crisis they've already been operating under.

Abortion workers/community organizers deserve space to grieve & feel just like everyone else, but they aren't given that luxury bc the work doesn't stop. The world doesn't stop moving. The people behind the scenes of these orgs need your support too. Solidarity with you all ❤️

Yesterday, a step was made toward abortion access in MO. Today, let's take another step to ensure access for all. You may be wondering what's next? Even with the passage of amendment 3, access to abortion will still be heavily restricted. 🧵

What are the barriers? TRAP LAWS( targeted restrictions on abortion providers), such as hospital admitting privileges & facility requirements, will still be in place until litigated.

Other restrictions: 72 hr waiting period, parental consent & notification, & bans on private insurance and Medicaid. In addition to those barriers, we now have a viability ban, forcing those who need later abortion to continue to travel out of state.

These restrictions leave behind low-income communities and communities of color. As we have seen in other states, litigation can take months to years before meaningful access returns to our state.

While we wait to see how this unfolds, here are some actions our supporters can take. 1. Fund abortion. The preliminary injunction today did not challenge bans ono insurance and Medicaid. Mofund.org/donate to help those needing assistance now.

2. Keep abortion in the conversation. While amendment 3 addresses barriers for some, it doesn't address barriers for all. Later abortion patients, minors, and low-income communities will see very little changed. Our fight for for access doesn't end at the ballot box.

MM OBGYN here. TX is home for me, and where I did my undergrad/medical school. I specifically sought out training in a pro-choice state to learn full spectrum care in order to come back to TX, where I practice currently. I have skills that other OBGYNs who trained in TX recently do

1) you’re not entitled to anyone’s reproduction 2) maybe your generation should have done more to create a world in which your kids would have wanted to have kids 3) go volunteer, mentor, foster—you can fill a grandparent role for someone else!

This country is clearly full of people who don’t really understand how our government works and I don’t think it helps that politics reporters are tweeting about Trump’s announcements of planned appointments as though these are final or official actions

Unfortunately, #Abortion in #MO is no more accessible today than it was before Amendment 3 Legality has never driven need & does NOT ensure availability FEW people had access in the state before #Dobbs, even fewer today Missouri Abortion Fund can help support your care in IL or KS
