it all boils down to highly sophisticated data curation, which my team is responsible for, along with many others ofcourse 🫡

i’m always on top of all the latest ai models and tools, but in the end i keep coming back to chatgpt as my “daily driver” as Marques Brownlee would say. insanely sticky product, take a bow Sam Altman 🙏

i think biggest alpha in AI is knowing the strengths and limitations of all the models. different models are good at different things. knowing which one to use and when, is gonna make or break your experience 🫡

I spoke at a high school yesterday and someone asked what I'd tell my 18 year old self if I could. It would be not to be tricked by prestige. It is at best a trailing indicator, and often simply wrong. Curiosity is a better guide.

so i bought a new macbook. didn’t even install vscode, went straight to @windsurf and mapped the “code” command to it. pretty big deal imo.

that feeling when your AI agent does 99% of the task but fumbles the final lap big time like an idiot 🤨 like come on buddy, i know you can do this.

very close to cancelling my windsurf subscription and just fully move to claude code. lack of sonnet/opus 4 is a big bummer. also claude code is insanely better than all other coding agents :o

after playing with GPT5 for a couple days, i can say with certainty it is the best model available today. when a new model comes out, the old ways don’t translate seamlessly, you need to learn to prompt it the way it likes. give it time and patience, it trumps all the rest.

GPT-5 represents the first model where we finally get to see the limitations of human intelligence when it comes to the utility of this technology. GPT-5 is an amazing model, if you hear differently, it’s a skill issue.

Learn to ship. Shipping is a skill distinct from coding. Shipping is designing, coding, QAing, story-telling, teaching, marketing, selling, pivoting, iterating… It used to be that coding dominated in importance because of coding ability scarcity. AI will push you to go further.

we’re getting to the point where my job is basically to help these ai minions navigate complex systems and produce some meaningful engineering work. you + ai >> ai > you

Sam Altman (@sama) 's Twitter Profile Photo

I have so much gratitude to people who wrote extremely complex software character-by-character. It already feels difficult to remember how much effort it really took. Thank you for getting us to this point.

1/ today we're releasing muse spark, the first model from MSL. nine months ago we rebuilt our ai stack from scratch. new infrastructure, new architecture, new data pipelines. muse spark is the result of that work, and now it powers meta ai. 🧵
