I'm excited to announce that I successfully defended my PhD thesis "Functional Morphology and Evolution of the Balistiform Swimming Mode" from Mark Westneat 🐟's lab The University of Chicago!

My first first-author paper is finally out - in it we reconstructed ancient proteins to reveal how Hemoglobin, the red pigment in blood, evolved its complex structure and function more than 450 million years ago. News and views summary from Nature here: nature.com/articles/d4158….
