When you become mature, one of things that shows your maturity is the ability to see things from another person’s point of view. You don’t just see the world through what’s best for you, you think about what’s best for others.

“Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed…” Hebrews 12:1–2 (The Message)

Effective teams focus on both results AND relationships. But I’ve noticed that teams usually have a natural bent in one direction. Join me for our “Healthy & High-Performing” teams masterclass and learn how to lead a productive and life-giving team: tmlive.us/3jys9x1

Most churches just evolve into their structure. It's a rare team that steps back, assesses their vision and strategies, and then intentionally resets their structure.

I'm always looking for a quick fix, an easy way. But discipleship is long, dirty, hard. It was for Jesus w/ the 12. So it will be for us. It will always involve the labor pangs of childbirth, as Paul says, because this is about deep formation, not superficial behavioral change.

“Rick Warren say, “There are all kinds of churches for all kinds of people.” You have to decide what kind of church you are going to be. Then you need to be that.” #BeThatChurch

“Mission-driven individuals can be mighty, but they are short-lived. A culture of mission, on the other hand, has staying power; though it must be maintained and renewed in each generation, it has a way of keeping itself going long after the originators are gone. ” Will Mancini

Many people believe that to be a believer and to be a disciple are 2 different things. So we have a 2-tier system of Christians w/ large #'s of people who believe in Jesus but do not follow Him And we have churches filled w/ large numbers of under-developed, nominal Christians.

In most churches, the congregation pays the pastor to preach, win the lost, and build up the saved—while the church members function as cheerleaders (if they are enthusiastic) or spectators. How much faster our churches would grow, if each one were discipling another believer.

“The one thing the church has to offer is the one thing that is relevant to every person in every age: the eternal gospel of Jesus Christ, the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes.” Will Mancini #FutureChurch
