DC Police on scene of a shooting at 5th and Somerset Pl in NW. A Safe Passage worker was shot at 3pm after some kind of fight. School was still in session DC Police Department says he was not working at the time but not clear if he was on the way to work. FOX 5 DC

Montgomery Co Police arrested Anthony Warren Offutt, 46, of Fort Washington for the hit & run that critically injured a man in downtown Bethesda last week. This is a witness picture of the moments after the victim was hit. FOX 5 DC

Now: Fairfax County Police Chief gives update on officer involved shooting at Tysons. 2 officers chased a theft suspect out of the mall about a 1/4 mile into a thick wooded area. The officers then fired on suspect, he died at the hospital. Chief doesn’t know if suspect had weapon.

The suspect, according to Fairfax County Police Chief, is well known to law enforcement throughout the region w/a long criminal history. 1 officer was wearing a body camera. Chief says they will release footage to public according to local laws. FOX 5 DC

The suspect in the H Street stabbing of a Senate staffer is 42-year-old Glynn Neal. Neal served a 12-year prison sentence for violent felonies. He was released a few months early on Friday-- 1 day before the stabbing. He is charged with Assault with Intent to Kill. FOX 5 DC

Police say the unmarked yellow school bus in Lorton is no longer considered suspicious. It was there for a pick-up. Fairfax County Police are still looking into the white bus w/blue stripe that tried to pick up a student in Reston @ 7:44am today.
