#Venus photographed this afternoon. The planet appears as a very thin crescent now as it moves between the Earth and Sun on approach to conjunction.

Dark Horse Nebula is a large complex that, from Earth's perspective, obscures part of the upper central bulge of the Milky Way in Ophiuchus constellation. The dark Pipe Nebula is part of the complex. 85mm f/2 + EOS 4000D - Pollino National Park/Piano Visitone 1400m SQM 21.8

My second outing for Galaxy Season 2025 is this wider view around M63, sometimes referred to as the Sunflower Galaxy. I managed a run of (unheard of in Scotland!) four clear nights to grab some data on this beautiful galaxy with an OSC and small Newtonian.  Instead of a close-up

NEW #Astrophoto: Messier 97 In March, I added luminance data to my Messier 97 OSC RGB image from 2023. I think the result is quite impressive. Full story: astrocamp.eu/qndom ▼ Vixen VC200L | SkyEye62AM '25 #astrophotography #astronomy #telescope #photography #nature

Galaxy cluster Abell 1377 in Ursa Major. Lots of tiny faint fuzzies at a staggering distance of 700 million light-years. The two brighter galaxies at the top are NGC 3890 & NGC 3850, at around 120 million light-years not part of the cluster. 6h with the C8 Fred Oliveira 🧠/7

Venus this morning under great conditions - my best image to date despite the planet being fairly distant from Earth at the moment. Still hard to believe what's possible from the backyard! 24" Dobsonian and Uranus-M camera. False colour IR(sG)UV mapped to RGB.

The mighty Messier 101. A full moon project, at least two-thirds of it. Presumably, under a normal sky, half the time would have been sufficient for the same result. :) Celestron C8 Fred Oliveira 🧠/7, 14h 39′ total exposure

Maffei 2 is a spiral galaxy at about 10 million light-years. It is is almost invisible to optical telescopes. Foreground dust clouds in the Milky Way block about 99.5% of its visible light, but this NIR-RGB image reveal the galaxy. Donatiello, Faleseidi, Lovrencie (U.A.I.)
