Not a single airport on the island of Ireland is accessible by rail. I’m glad that plans are now emerging for a rail halt at one airport, but it is frankly embarrassing that this level of basic infrastructure brings “huge excitement” to the woman allegedly running the country.

👋 Leaving the ECHR really is within touching distance. The @criticmag mentioned the findings of our latest paper co-authored by Suella Braverman MP and Guy Dampier on Why and How to Leave the ECHR. The cross party support is there, it's time to go. thecritic.co.uk/leaving-the-ec…

7 hours of debate, peers in their 90s speaking in the chamber, and now Lord Alton recording his speech while recovering from spinal injuries. The Lords are showing real commitment in scrutinising the assisted suicide Bill!

Another important debate today on assisted suicide. Hopefully peers follow the inspiration of Lord Alton and continue to passionately oppose the Bill!

Chilling. If the MPs pushing this Bill once wanted to allow doctors to raise assisted suicide with children, imagine where it could go next. Former Deputy PM Thérèse Coffey is right to sound the alarm.

Lord Frost is right: legalising assisted suicide isn’t a small change. Once we accept that some lives are expendable, we enter utilitarianism’s logic - and in that world, none of us is safe.

Lord Patten is right. Our supposedly neutral Government continues to give this Bill help. Today the Govt. has recalled the Lords during recess, a step usually reserved for national emergencies, to give it additional time outside sitting Fridays. Shameful.
