I don’t think we’re nearly angry enough about rich people burning down our planet irreversibly so they can get a little richer

The enormous scale of the fossil fuel industry can be hard to grasp. Here's a comparison I find helpful. The 460 billion tonnes of carbon that humans have dug up and burned since 1850 is greater than the estimated amount of carbon present in all of the currently living plants.
