I don’t know who needs to hear this but soy protein will not turn you into a female. It’s a good high quality source of complete protein and will help you build and retain muscle mass! Let the myth die.

Should you care about your aerobic fitness? Is it worth the investment of your time to develop it? If you care about living a long time then the answer is yes to both. What’s the best way to develop aerobic fitness? How much time is enough? What intensity level is required?

Tim Hamilton (@_trainwithtim) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Aerobic fitness is clearly linked to reduced mortality. Most of your aerobic training should be easy. Add some moderate efforts and then sprinkle in a dash of high intensity. Pick your favorite modality. Run bike swim row etc…

They might be fun but met-cons and mixed forms of training are a very inefficient way to develop aerobic fitness, and aren’t ideal for building strength & muscle. They ARE really good at accumulating a ton of fatigue and stress. Cardio & strength are better done separately.

I care about having a healthy body composition but I have zero interest in my specific % body fat. I train my aerobic fitness but I don’t need to know my VO2 max. I work hard to stay strong but I don’t need to test my one rep max bench, squat or deadlift. Focus on what matters!

Two training errors that exist on opposite ends of the spectrum: 1. Never changing your routine and always doing what’s familiar and comfortable. 2. Perpetually changing your routine and never really getting the most out of any of it. How about let’s meet somewhere in the middle?

I don’t know who needs to hear this but your muscles are not dormant or sleepy. You don’t need to spend any time with so-called activation drills. Wrapping a band around your knees is a waste of time and a loss of focus. Warm-up if you like and then get to lifting.

Stay in the fitness game long enough and your priorities WILL get reshuffled. If they don’t, you’re not evolving. Something you hold dear today might have little or no value for you somewhere down the line. And something completely unexpected might emerge as a worthy pursuit!

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but eventually, you will need something other than hype, entertainment and a killer playlist to sustain a healthy habit of physical fitness. The real sustenance of training does not rely on superficial sources.

If your trainer is always trying to “fix” or “correct” your movements, that is a 🚩. If your trainer warns you not to move a certain way because it will lead to injury that’s a 🚩. If your trainer tells you to avoid certain positions cuz they’re inherently dangerous that’s a 🚩.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but the fastest human IN THE WORLD for 2024 is a high school kid from Florida who just turned 18. Christian Miller ran 9.93 in the 100m in April. No 17 year old has EVER run that fast. Not even Usain Bolt.

To all you people demonizing Ozempic: Just stop. You’re making it clear that you are way out of your lane and you don’t know what you’re talking about. Ozempic is a positive step forward for many many people. Hating on it (and them) for taking it says more about you than them.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but whenever anybody says “I hate to burst your bubble“ trust me that person is thoroughly enjoying bursting your bubble.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but out of all the things you need to improve your health, supplements are gonna be at the bottom of the list if they are on it at all.

Tim Hamilton (@_trainwithtim) 's Twitter Profile Photo

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but when it comes to fat loss, the specific foods you’re eating don’t matter nearly as much as the total calories you’re putting away.

Tim Hamilton (@_trainwithtim) 's Twitter Profile Photo

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but some of y’all are confusing fitness with entertainment. If you need constant superficial stimulation to keep you amused and interested, you don’t understand the meaning of training and your priorities have been lost.

May 2025 be the year in which you reallocate most of the money you spend on supplements, detoxes, alcohol, and eating out and use it for a gym membership, meal preps, and personal training or online training with yours truly!
